Enlightenment Trail

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN BODHGAYA

Arrival: Welcome on arrival at Bodhgaya Airport, where a Magadh tours executive will meet and greet at the airport with a traditional welcome.

Transfer: After meet-and-assist services, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Evening Visit:

Mahabodhi Temple- The sacred site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.

Overnight: Stay overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 2: BODHGAYA SIGHTSEEING

Breakfast: Start the day with breakfast at the hotel.

Full-day sightseeing in Bodhgaya:

Morning visit Mahabodhi Temple for meditation- The sacred site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.

Sujata Village- Village where Sujata offered milk-rice to Buddha, marking the end of his asceticism.

Niranjana River- River near which Buddha meditated before his enlightenment.

Dungeshwari Cave: The place where Lord Buddha spent severe 6 years before getting enlightenment at Bodhgaya.

Various International Monasteries- Temples and monasteries built by Buddhist countries, each reflecting unique cultural architecture.

Overnight: Stay overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 3: EXCURSION TO RAJGIR & NALANDA

Breakfast: Start the day with breakfast at the hotel.

Drive to Rajgir:

Gridhkutta Hill- Also known as Vulture’s Peak; Buddha delivered many important sermons here.

Bimbisar Jail- Ruins believed to be the prison where King Bimbisara was confined by his son.

Ajatashatru's Fort- Ancient fort linked to King Ajatashatru, a contemporary of the Buddha.

Proceed to Nalanda (12 km from Rajgir):

The ruins of Nalanda University- Remains of the world’s oldest residential university and center of Buddhist learning.

Monument honouring Chinese monk Hiuen Tsang- Monument commemorating the Chinese pilgrim who studied and taught at Nalanda.

Return to Bodhgaya.

Overnight: Stay overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 4: BODHGAYA - VARANASI

Breakfast: Start the day with breakfast at the hotel.

Drive to Varanasi.

Afternoon excursion to Sarnath:

Dhamekha Stupa- Site where Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment.

Deer Park- The place where the Buddha met his first disciples.

Sarnath Museum (Closed on Fridays) - Houses important Buddhist artifacts, including the Lion Capital of Ashoka.

Overnight: Stay overnight at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 5: VARANASI + DEPARTURE

Early morning boat ride on the Ganges with sunrise view- Spiritual experience offering views of sacred ghats and sunrise rituals.

Return to hotel for breakfast.

Explore the ancient city of Varanasi- One of the world’s oldest living cities, sacred in Hinduism and rich in spiritual heritage.

Transfer: Timely transfer to airport to catch the flight for onward destination.
